The course is supported by Ross Hoar, a Gestalt psychotherapist with nearly 40 years experience in mental health, criminal justice system, drug addiction and eating disorders. Ross has a broad range of skills working with people who have endured extraordinary traumatic experiences. Through working together, it is hoped that the Maverick Survival School will provide a time for people to be in an environment that is nurturing, natural and challenging. we fully recognise that a full day or full weekend is not going to "cure or takeaway" the impact of trauma or PTSD, however, being in a woodland environment can help to bring attention to "life".
The school offers level 2 and level 3 training and classes of up to 6 people. Although Maverick Survival School can offer support to people with trauma and PTSD this is by no means exclusive and we welcome all ages to the school.
